Standing up an AI governance baseline for a federal civilian agency

Approach: As an SDVOSB partner we authored a written governance baseline — decision rights, data-handling rules, and review gates — mapped it to the agency's existing authorization process, and gave the program office a repeatable intake path every vendor pilot had to clear.
Result: The agency moved from ad-hoc, stalled approvals to a documented governance standard its other vendors now have to meet. Pilots that fit the standard move faster; pilots that don't get caught before they create risk.
